Net Zero Energy Planning

We have experience planning and developing zero net energy (ZNE) buildings and facilities, and their unique design and engineering challenges. We have extensive knowledge of local authority requirements and regulations to help support this commitment.

Chris Schaffner, PE, LEED Fellow, our founder and CEO, is a member of the MA Zero Net Energy Buildings Advisory Council, Zero Energy Codes Technical Working Group (through NEEP), MAZE (Mass Zero Energy), Schools Working Group (also through NEEP) and the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP) (a non-profit), and he provides leadership to other stakeholders in this effort. Chris was also a member of Governor Deval Patrick’s Zero Net Energy Building Task Force.

In addition, The Green Engineer is a signer of the 2030 Commitment for NZE buildings by 2030,and, as a B Corp, has committed to net zero carbon operations.
